Special Education Teacher (Soaring Heights School)
About The Position
Pyramid Healthcare provides behavioral healthcare services in addiction treatment, mental health recovery, and eating disorder treatment. Soaring Heights Schools are licensed private academic schools offering educational and ABA-aligned programming for students ages 5–21 with autism spectrum disorder or who require emotional support services. The Special Education Teacher conducts special education programming for students identified by their IEP as needing such services. The role includes designing and implementing behavioral management plans, organizing classroom service delivery, and collaborating with education and therapeutic staff to meet special education requirements. The teacher also completes required paperwork and records, attends meetings, and responds to emergencies.
Requirements
- Experience in teaching.
Nice To Haves
- PA Teaching Certification.
- A bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Special Education Certification.
Responsibilities
- Conduct special education programming for students identified by their IEP as needing special education services and attending the Pyramid Healthcare education program.
- Design and implement effective behavioral management plans in all educational settings.
- Organize and implement effective classroom delivery of service.
- Work with education and therapeutic staff to effectively implement special education requirements.
- Complete necessary paperwork, phone contacts, and record keeping.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Respond to emergency situations.
