About The Position

Ampersand Therapy is hiring a Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year in an elementary school in Markham, Illinois. This is a full-time, in-person position with a schedule of 35–37 hours per week, including paid lunches. Candidates must have an active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an LBS1 endorsement at the time of submission. The role includes small-group and individual instruction, implementation of IEPs, student progress tracking, participation in IEP and staff meetings, collaboration with educators, support staff and families, and timely documentation. Experience in a resource room is preferred but not required; new graduates are welcome and will receive mentoring.

Requirements

• Have an active Illinois PEL with an LBS1 endorsement at the time of submission.
• Demonstrate a passion for inclusive, student-centered instruction.
• Have strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Experience in a resource room setting is preferred but not required.
