About The Position

Candor Consulting & Diagnostics is hiring a full-time Special Education Teacher in Texas to support students with autism. The teacher provides individualized instruction, classroom supports, and collaborates with families and school teams to help students access learning, communicate their needs, participate meaningfully, and build independence.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Valid Texas special education teaching certification, with any additional qualifications required for the assignment.
Knowledge of individualized instruction, IEP implementation, visual supports, and positive behavior strategies.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Patient, adaptable approach that recognizes each student’s strengths and individual support needs.

Responsibilities

Adapt lessons, materials, and teaching strategies to students’ strengths, learning needs, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
Use predictable routines, visual supports, and appropriate accommodations to create a supportive classroom environment.
Support students’ academic learning, communication, social participation, and independence in line with their individual goals and in collaboration with related service providers.
Use positive behavior strategies and implement individualized behavior intervention plans when applicable, collaborating with the educational team.
Maintain accurate records, collect student data, and use progress monitoring to guide instructional decisions.
Help develop and review IEPs, participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings, and coordinate with families, teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers.
