About The Position

Cross Country Education is seeking a Special Education Teacher in Memphis, Tennessee, to support middle and high school students in a Functional Skills program. The teacher will deliver research-based specialized instruction tailored to students’ academic, developmental, and behavioral needs. The role includes developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), setting measurable goals, and adjusting instruction based on student progress. The teacher will create a structured, inclusive classroom environment with differentiated instruction and appropriate behavioral supports to promote student independence and growth. Collaboration with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams is also part of the role.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Active Tennessee Teaching License/Certificate with the appropriate Special Education endorsement.
• Knowledge of Special Education practices.
• Experience supporting students with behavioral and emotional disabilities.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree preferred.
• Two or more years of teaching experience preferred.
• Experience in urban or charter school settings preferred.
