Long Term Substitute Special Ed Teacher (Certification Required)
About The Position
Celebrate the Children School in Denville, New Jersey, is seeking a long-term substitute Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. Celebrate the Children is a nonprofit, state-approved private school serving children with alternative learning styles. The school describes its staff as caring, compassionate, and dedicated to its program philosophy, and requires New Jersey Department of Education certifications. This is a 10-month contracted position with an 11-month commitment for certificated staff. The commitment includes the regular school year from September through June and participation in the Extended School Year (ESY) program in July. ESY compensation is calculated separately according to the applicable hourly rate and scheduled hours. Compensation is determined using a structured salary grid based on relevant years of experience and educational qualifications, subject to applicable NJ DOE requirements and the discretion of the Board of Directors.
Requirements
- CEAS or Standard Certification in General Education.
- CEAS/Standard TOSD or TOH Standard Certification.

Nice To Haves
- At least two years of experience working with the special needs population; preferred but not required.
- DIR experience; preferred but not required.
