About The Position

We're seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to support students in grades 4 and 5 at an Illinois school district during the 2026–2027 academic year. This full-time position is suited for an educator who can provide targeted instruction, adapt curriculum to individual learning needs, and work effectively with students, families, and school-based professionals. The Special Education Teacher will provide specialized instruction and implement educational programming based on each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP). The teacher will assess student performance, track progress toward established goals, and adjust instructional approaches to address academic and developmental needs. The role requires ongoing collaboration with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families. The successful candidate will contribute to a well-organized classroom environment that supports student participation, skill development, and academic progress.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS1) endorsement

Nice To Haves

• Previous school-based special education experience is preferred

Responsibilities
