The Special Education Teacher provides educational instruction to children in school, preschool, or early intervention programs, following each child's IEP or IFSP.

Requirements

• A master's degree in Special Education or Education from an accredited program.
• Current special education teacher certification from NYSED.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual or group educational instruction to children in school, preschool, or early intervention programs.
• Deliver educational instruction as mandated in the IEP or IFSP.
• Assess and document each student's progress through formal and informal tests and measures.
• Create materials and lesson plans.
• Oversee teaching assistants and aides, as needed.
