Special Education Teacher - Elementary LTPDS (Autistic Support)
About The Position
The Special Education Teacher will prepare, direct, and deliver instruction to students in special needs classes at Mill Creek Elementary School, providing Autistic Support. The position is a long-term per diem substitute assignment, available approximately October 20, 2026, through December 7, 2026. Compensation is $200 per full day. The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of content, pedagogy, and Pennsylvania’s Academic Standards. The role includes using crisis prevention techniques and strategies with students whose IEPs require them; restraint may be used only as a last resort. CBSD will provide training. Employment is provisional for 90 days as required by Act 168 of 2014. New CBSD hires must complete the Act 168 Inquiry Form included in the New Hire Checklist.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Pennsylvania Special Education PK-8 certification; a content-area certificate is required for issuance.
- Alternatively, Pennsylvania Special Education PK-12 certification (certificate discontinued August 31, 2013); a content-area certificate is required.
- Knowledge of content, pedagogy, and Pennsylvania’s Academic Standards.

- Elementary certification preferred.
