About The Position

Achieve Beyond is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to provide services to children and families in Nassau and Suffolk counties, New York. The role provides pediatric services and/or evaluations for children from birth through age 21 in natural settings, including client homes, daycare homes and centers, preschools, clinics, and other community settings. The position offers a flexible schedule and involves working with families and caregivers to support children's goals.

Requirements

• Have a passion for working with children and families.
• Hold one of the following New York State certifications or licenses: Students with Disabilities (Birth–2) Initial or Professional Certification; Permanent Special Education Certification; TSHH Permanent Certification; TSLD Initial or Professional Certification; NYS Licensed Master Social Worker; or NYS Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
• Be self-motivated and a team player who exercises patience and professionalism.
• Be able to travel to and from assigned cases.

Nice To Haves

• Fluency in a language other than English.

Responsibilities

• Provide pediatric services and/or evaluations to children aged birth through 21 in natural settings.
• Educate families and caregivers on intervention strategies to encourage active involvement and carry-over.
• Work in client homes, daycare homes and centers, preschools, clinics, and other community settings.
• Follow each family's or child's established plan, plan ongoing treatment, address identified goals, and document progress.
• Prepare progress reports as indicated.
• Maintain child records and protect confidential information in accordance with HIPAA and state and federal regulations.
• Submit required records within established timelines.
