Special Education Teacher Level 1
About The Position
Otsego Public Schools is seeking a full-time Level 1 Special Education Teacher for Otsego High School for the 2026–27 school year. The teacher will instruct students with special needs in core content using approaches such as pull-out intervention groups and push-in support in general education classrooms to meet students’ varying needs. The role also involves collaborating with teachers, administrators, parents, social workers, and other professionals to support secondary school programs and student development. Requirements
- Valid Michigan Teacher Certificate with a Special Education endorsement.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in Level 1 special education preferred.
- Experience at the secondary level preferred.
Responsibilities
- Instruct students with special needs in core content using a variety of techniques, including pull-out intervention groups and push-in support in general education classrooms.
- Collaborate with teachers or administrators to develop, evaluate, or revise secondary school programs.
- Plan or schedule lessons with other staff members to promote learning and follow approved curricula.
- Confer with parents, administrators, social workers, or other professionals to develop individual educational plans (IEPs) for students’ educational, physical, or social development.
