About The Position

Thrive Education Partners is seeking an experienced California Special Education Teacher for a full-time, year-round private education role based in Thousand Oaks, California. The educator will focus on one middle school student, designing and delivering an individualized academic program while collaborating with the student's family, an established team of support professionals, and Thrive's Educational Manager. The role is intended for an educator seeking an alternative to managing a full classroom, with a commitment of at least two years as the goal. The student is warm, social, engaging, and a strong visual learner who benefits from relationship-centered instruction. The educator will provide access to age-appropriate, grade-level concepts through carefully adapted instruction, supporting the student at their current access point while maintaining meaningful expectations for growth. Academic priorities include core subjects, structured literacy, foundational mathematics, and direct instruction in executive functioning. Instruction should account for the student's communication, processing, self-regulation, and academic skill-development needs, including how print size, contrast, spacing, and the amount of material presented affect access. The position is in person and primarily 1:1, with community-based and small-group instruction. The schedule is Monday through Friday, primarily mornings and early afternoons, with 20–22 teaching hours per week plus 6–8 hours of planning and preparation, up to 30 hours total. Planning time is built into the working day and protected. The start date is October 1, 2026. Compensation is $75,000–$110,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. The educator will be a full-time, year-round W-2 employee of Thrive Education Partners.
