About The Position
This position is for a Special Education Teacher for Grades K-6 at Heeia Elementary, specifically focusing on Grades 3 and 4 Resource/Inclusion. The Hawaii State Department of Education is committed to hiring highly qualified teachers. A Bachelor's Degree is the minimum qualification for this role, unless it's a designated Career and Technology Education (CTE) position. If hired without a completed Teacher's Education Program, there is a maximum of 3 years to obtain a valid Hawaii teaching license, requiring enrollment in an approved program and demonstration of active pursuit towards licensing requirements each year. A valid Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit is required upon hire.
