About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Elementary Resource Special Education (SPED) Teacher to join a supportive educational team in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. This role provides an opportunity to help elementary students with diverse learning needs build academic skills, confidence, and independence. The teacher provides individualized and small-group instruction through a resource program, supporting students in accessing the general education curriculum while addressing their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.

Requirements

Valid state teaching credential in Special Education.
Current BLS/CPR certification.
Minimum of 6 months of relevant experience within the past 5 years.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with student needs and applicable requirements.
Provide individualized and small-group instruction to elementary students receiving resource special education services.
Support students in meeting academic, behavioral, and functional goals through differentiated teaching strategies.
Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, specialists, and school support staff to promote student progress and inclusion.
Assess student performance, monitor progress toward IEP goals, and maintain accurate educational records.
Adapt instructional materials, lessons, and assessments to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding student progress, needs, and strategies for continued learning.
Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with the educational team to develop appropriate student supports and interventions.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that encourages student growth and independence.
