Special Education Teacher
About The Position
Boothby Therapy Services is hiring full-time Special Education Teachers in Poland, Maine, for the 2026–2027 school year. Multiple roles and caseloads are available serving elementary- or middle-school students. Placements may be tailored to candidates’ certifications, experience, preferred age groups, caseload interests, and geographic preferences. Teachers receive support from a dedicated Service Delivery Manager, ongoing mentorship, collaboration with related-service professionals and district teams, and access to resources and instructional best practices. The organization emphasizes educator well-being, professional growth, and supportive school partnerships.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid Maine Special Education certification or eligibility for certification.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in school-based special education settings is preferred.
- New graduates and experienced educators are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized instruction to students receiving special education services.
- Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with families, teachers, administrators, and related service providers.
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Use evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions.
- Support students’ academic, behavioral, social, and functional growth.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations.
