Special Education Teacher
About The Position
Boothby Therapy Services is hiring a full-time Special Education Teacher to serve eighth-grade students in Derry, New Hampshire, for the 2026–2027 school year. The organization uses a personalized placement process intended to align positions with educators’ experience, preferred age group, caseload interests, and geographic preferences. Teachers receive support from a dedicated Service Delivery Manager, ongoing mentorship, resources and professional development, and collaboration with related service providers and district teams. Responsibilities vary by placement and include specialized instruction, IEP development and management, progress monitoring, collaboration, and supporting students’ academic, behavioral, social, and functional growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid New Hampshire Special Education certification or eligibility for certification.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in school-based special education settings is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized instruction to students receiving special education services.
- Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with families, teachers, administrators, and related service providers.
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Use evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions.
- Support students’ academic, behavioral, social, and functional growth.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations.
