About The Position

Through relationships and experiences we develop identity, discover success, and thrive. Help young men in a therapeutic setting as they progress on their healing journey. Discovery Ranch for Boys is a relationship-based residential treatment center. Our students are teenage boys who struggle with emotional, behavioral, and substance abuse disorders. We use evidence-based practices and emphasize experiential therapy. As our Special Education Teacher, you will provide traditional classroom instruction in an unique setting to this diverse student body. Mornings are devoted to therapy work while school is held in the afternoon, the ideal time for academic engagement in adolescents. We need an engaged, creative, and dedicated teacher who sees the value in our students and will help them see it too as they continue their education during their treatment with us. Healthy relationships, novel and challenging experiences, and a strengths-based approach are how we foster the healing process and create lasting change, and this happens just as much in the classroom as anywhere else. ________________________________________________ Part-time with potential to grow to Full-Time | M-Th 4-8:30 pm | $24-26/hour DOE This position is ideal for, but not limited to: an educator looking to support disadvantaged populations a teacher looking for supplemental income a retired teacher who still wants to work part time a parent wanting to work opposite of their spouse's 9-5 ________________________________________________
