About The Position

The Cache County School District seeks educators who are committed to high standards of instruction, professional integrity, and the well-being of every student. Because of the significant responsibility placed on educators, teachers in Utah are required to meet professional preparation and credentialing standards established by the Utah State Board of Education. Applicants for teaching positions in the Cache County School District must hold a current Utah educator license and appropriate endorsements for the assigned subject or grade level. Candidates who bring both strong instructional skills and proper licensure help ensure that students receive the high-quality education they deserve. This is a part-time position teaching Adults inside the Cache County Correctional facility. There will be certified teaching for two days and hourly teaching for the other two days. This position includes helping with paper-and-pencil academic modules, computer-based learning programs, and assessments. Work with male and female adults in the Cache County Corrections facility. Spanish-speaking is preferred.

Applying assessment instruments to evaluate student learning
Operating standard office equipment and instructional technology
Preparing and maintaining accurate records and documentation
Classroom instruction and student engagement techniques
Curriculum standards and lesson plan development
Child and adolescent development
Behavioral management strategies
Applicable education codes, policies, regulations, and laws
Instructional strategies and assessment practices
Collaborate with staff and contribute to the school’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) program
Establish and maintain constructive relationships with students, parents, and staff
Adapt to changing priorities and instructional needs
Maintain confidentiality and professional discretion
Demonstrate tact, patience, and professionalism in working with diverse individuals and groups
Bachelor’s degree in a job-related area.
Secondary Teaching Credential with endorsement in the appropriate content area.
Criminal background clearance

Responsibilities

Administer subject-specific assessments to evaluate student competency levels and support instructional planning.
Advise parents or guardians of student progress to communicate expectations and support student achievement.
Assess student progress toward instructional objectives and provide feedback to students, parents, and administrators.
Collaborate with instructional staff, school personnel, parents, and community resources to support student outcomes and classroom objectives.
Counsel students to improve academic performance, health awareness, problem-solving skills, and personal development.
Demonstrate subject-area concepts and methods to support student understanding and skill development.
Direct assistant teachers, student teachers, instructional assistants, volunteers, and student workers to support classroom instruction.
Instruct students using established curriculum guidelines to provide a rigorous and engaging learning environment.
Maintain positive, professional relationships with students to foster a safe, productive learning environment.
Manage student behavior to maintain a safe, effective classroom environment.
Monitor students in a variety of educational environments, including classrooms, field trips, assemblies, and school activities.
Prepare instructional materials, lesson plans, grades, attendance records, and other documentation required for instructional programs.
Participate in meetings, professional development, and collaborative activities related to instructional improvement.
Report incidents and respond to emergency situations as required to maintain student safety and comply with district policies.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
