The Special Education Teacher facilitates Special Education student success in the least restrictive environment in the areas of academics, behavior regulation, interpersonal/social skills, self-management, and activities of daily living. This is achieved by implementing district-approved curriculum, documenting teaching and student progress, addressing specific student needs, and providing a safe and optimal learning environment. The role also involves providing feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding student progress, expectations, and goals, ensuring access to the general education curriculum and non-disabled peers to the greatest extent possible. A primary focus is establishing a positive learning environment that promotes high achievement for all students, considering individual student backgrounds and developmental levels. This teacher will collaborate with general education teachers, special educators, administration, Speech and Language Pathologists, Other Related Service Providers, Psychologists, and paraprofessionals to deliver appropriate services and supports for diverse student needs.
