About The Position
Intermediate District 287 is seeking a long-term Substitute Special Education Teacher, licensed in ASD or EBD, for the West Education Center in Minnetonka, MN. The district serves students in grades K-12 and transition-age students (18-22 years old) from 12 member districts in the west metro area. Intermediate District 287 offers a variety of services and specialized programs, primarily focused on setting IV special education, to meet the diverse needs of its students. The district emphasizes a trauma-informed approach, comprehensive support services with dedicated teams (School Social Workers, Psychologists, Counselors, Behavior Intervention Specialists, Student Safety Coaches), small class sizes (average of 6-8 students), and a commitment to diversity, aiming to hire and retain racially diverse and racially conscious staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Current teaching license in ASD or EBD, or a valid license in another subject area & willing to get an Out of Field license.

Responsibilities
- Provide special education services to students with ASD or EBD.
