About The Position

Holds or is able to secure an Arkansas teaching license within the range of K-12 special education

Responsibilities

Support students with diverse needs.
Adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
Convey information about students' progress, behavior, and individualized education plans (IEPs) accurately and compassionately.
Design and implement instruction that meets the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
Adapt curriculum materials, use assistive technology, and provide alternative assessment methods.
Collaborate with other professionals, such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and behavior specialists, to create comprehensive support plans for students.
Collect data on students' progress and behavior to inform instructional decisions and measure the effectiveness of interventions.
Implement strategies for de-escalating situations and providing appropriate support.
Build trust and foster positive relationships with students and their families.
Manage paperwork, schedule meetings, and coordinate services effectively.
Advocate for students' needs within the school system, including appropriate accommodations, services, or resources.
