About The Position

The Special Education Self Contained Aide supports students with disabilities in a self-contained instructional setting at Desert Hills Elementary. The position is available for the 2026–2027 school year and works 187 days, 8 hours per day. The daily rate is $117.20–$142.08. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and meet ESSA requirements by completing two years of study at an institution of higher education (48 college credit hours) or holding an associate degree or higher. The successful candidate must apply for and obtain a valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate upon hire and have at least one year of experience working with students. Required application documents include a copy of a high school diploma or equivalent, transcripts showing 48 or more accredited college credits, a copy of a driver's license, and a current resume. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Meet ESSA standards through either two years of study at an institution of higher education (48 college credit hours) or an associate degree or higher.
Apply for and obtain a valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate upon hire.
At least one year of experience working with students.
Ability to lift 50–150 pounds.
Ability to communicate effectively with parents, co-workers, and students.
Ability to work well with children with disabilities and under supervision.
Ability to use a computer and familiarity with Word, Excel, Access, and email systems.
