About The Position

Prelude Prep is a tuition-free public charter school serving students in Pre-K through 8th grade in San Antonio. We are seeking a Special Education Resource Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support for students receiving special education services. This teacher will serve as a case manager, provide targeted interventions, collaborate with classroom teachers, and help students make meaningful progress toward their IEP goals. The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, and committed to helping students succeed through high-quality instruction and strong relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Texas Special Education certification
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Eligibility to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the case manager for assigned students receiving special education services
  • Provide specialized instruction in small-group settings aligned to students' IEP goals
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure accommodations and modifications are implemented effectively
  • Participate in ARD meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of IEPs
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and support
  • Use data to make instructional decisions and adjust interventions
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal special education requirements
  • Participate actively in coaching, planning, and professional development
  • Contribute positively to the culture and mission of the school
