About The Position

Cross Country Education is seeking passionate Special Education Teachers to provide individualized instruction and support in either a middle school Math Resource or elementary self-contained classroom in Clinton Township, MI. This role involves providing individualized special education instruction, adapting lessons to meet students’ academic and developmental needs, and developing, implementing, and monitoring IEPs. The teacher will collaborate with general education teachers, families, and support staff to foster students' growth and create a structured, supportive learning environment. For self-contained assignments, the role includes coordinating paraeducators and behavioral supports.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher
Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an appropriate Special Education endorsement and applicable elementary education endorsement
For the Middle School Math Resource assignment, meet Michigan requirements to provide direct middle school math instruction, including applicable Highly Qualified (HQ) Math requirements

Nice To Haves

Special education, resource, or self-contained classroom experience preferred
Strong IEP implementation skills highly valued
Strong classroom-management skills highly valued

Responsibilities

Provide individualized special education instruction in a middle school Math Resource or elementary self-contained classroom, adapting instruction to meet students’ academic and developmental needs.
Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, including measurable goals, accommodations, progress monitoring, and data collection.
Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and multidisciplinary support staff to promote students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth.
Create a structured, supportive learning environment.
For self-contained assignments, coordinate classroom paraeducators and individualized behavioral supports.
