Requirements
- Hold one of the following licenses: Level I Teaching Assistant Certificate, Level II Teaching Assistant Certificate, Level III Teaching Assistant Certificate, Initial Teaching Assistant Certificate, OR Professional Teaching Assistant Certificate.
- Ability to defuse situations and prevent escalation.
- Aptitude to understand and navigate technical systems.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities and/or behavior modifications.
Responsibilities
- Assess student abilities and provide instructional and behavioral assistance in accordance with their individual education plan (IEP) and/or 504-behavior plan as directed by the special education team.
- Support students individually or in small groups.
- Commit to educating the whole student – academically, morally, and socially.
- Implement curriculum and instruction designed to meet the unique needs of each student resulting from their disability, including resource room, inclusion, and/or pullout services.
- Attend professional development, specialized trainings, and IEP meetings with the special education team and parents as required.
- Assist with required compliance documentation.
