The Special Education Paraprofessional is a key member of the Exceptional Student Services team and a champion for students with disabilities. This individual provides individualized academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support for students with mild to moderate disabilities across a variety of school settings. The paraprofessional supports the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and other individualized support plans with fidelity. This role helps students strengthen their academic skills, decrease behaviors that interfere with learning, and develop greater self-advocacy and self-regulation. The paraprofessional collaborates closely with special education teachers, general education teachers, related service providers, families, and administrators and is directly supervised by the Director of Special Education.
