Special Education Paraeducator
About The Position
Paraeducators provide instructional support and deliver other direct services to students under the direction of a certified teacher or other licensed employee. This full-time support staff position is at Centennial Elementary School, with an immediate start date. The schedule is nine months, Monday through Friday. The salary range is $18.24 to $22.70 per hour, and the position is benefits eligible. Additional education and/or experience may be required for specific aide positions. Some positions are supported by Title I funds and require additional education or certification; candidates hired for a Title I position must have Title I Paraprofessional Certification before hire or before working with students.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing with students, colleagues, and parents or guardians.
- Basic academic and computer skills.
- For a Title I position, Title I Paraprofessional Certification is required before hire or work with students.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working or volunteering in a school setting.
- Experience working with individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Associate degree in Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a similar field.
- Experience working as a direct support professional, personal care aide, CNA, or in a similar position.
