About The Position

The LifeWorks School in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, is hiring a certified Elementary Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 academic school year. The role is for a self-contained elementary classroom serving students with intellectual disabilities. LifeWorks Schools are licensed specialty therapeutic day schools that provide individualized educational curricula and evidence-based educational and therapeutic supports for students facing social, emotional, or behavioral health challenges. The teacher provides academic and functional instruction to students diagnosed with Autism or Pervasive Developmental Disorder, monitors and documents student progress, develops and implements IEPs, and supports student behavior through individualized systems and positive behavior plans. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered for a certified Special Education Teacher.

Requirements

Bachelor’s-level degree in Special Education.
Pennsylvania certification in Special Education.

Responsibilities

Provide academic and functional instruction to students diagnosed with Autism or Pervasive Developmental Disorder in a school setting.
Monitor student academic and functional achievement through data collection, observation, and other quantitative methods.
Observe and record student progress daily.
Develop and monitor students’ IEPs, reports, goals, and objectives.
Attend IEP meetings.
Establish, maintain, and work toward student goals outlined in the IEP.
Manage student behavior through individualized motivational systems, the S.M.A.R.T. Program, and positive behavior support plans.
