The Special Education Administrator will provide leadership, coordination, and supervision of all special education students requiring services and programming in out-of-district placements. This role involves coordinating the special education process, managing paperwork and education plans, and maintaining communication with parents, external placements, and agencies. The administrator will monitor student performance, implement changes based on federal special education law, assist with Medicaid reimbursement, and ensure timely and responsive handling of parent concerns. The position also includes researching alternate placements, coordinating transitions to and from outside placements, preparing and sending transition documents, observing students in various settings, implementing placement and evaluation procedures, and assisting with the out-of-district budget and circuit breaker documentation. Additional duties may be assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services.
