About The Position

Brightmont Academy is seeking a dedicated and energetic Special Education Administrator to manage increased demand for students with IEP and 504 plans. The academy utilizes a customized one-teacher-to-one-student approach within an accredited curricula program to meet individual student needs. Students attend Brightmont for various reasons, including learning disabilities, attention deficits, emotional issues, health concerns, or other special needs. The role involves facilitating special education services for students placed by districts, supporting teachers with instructional strategies, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The position requires a focus on data analysis for goal setting, monitoring student progress, and managing reporting requirements. Collaboration with campus directors and district representatives is key, as is maintaining quality interactions with all stakeholders. The role emphasizes the protection of student rights and confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Must have an LBS1 Certification AND Principal Endorsement / Type 75
  • 4 year Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred
  • Demonstrates proficiency of technology resources, tools, and curricula
  • Experience using G-Suite and Chromebooks
  • Administrative skills for lesson coverage, grades and pacing progress
  • Positive professional communication skills: written, verbal, and non-verbal
  • Able to provide quality and effective instructional strategies
  • Able to pass a federal background screening
  • Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and promote the philosophy, mission, and pillars of Brightmont Academy.
  • Physical presence on the campus and/or corporate office is required as it is part of the essential function of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the provision of special education services to students that are placed with Brightmont from a district.
  • Understand and support teachers on effective instructional strategies for students with disabilities.
  • Assist in monitoring special education programs and related services to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and local district policies and procedures.
  • Analyze data to establish appropriate goals and objectives in context of improving academic achievement and social-emotional growth.
  • Promote use of research-based interventions, strategies, and instruction.
  • Facilitate special education students’ progress reviews with a focus on data monitoring of student achievement and continuous improvement.
  • Manage and complete any reporting requirements as needed by the district or ISBE for each student.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and ensure the implementation of Individual Education Programs and inclusive practices.
  • Collaborate with Campus Directors and District Representatives to assess and analyze the needs of individual students.
  • Consistently maintain quality interactions with teachers, students, parents, and the larger community.
  • Maintain and protect the rights and confidentiality of others.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
