About The Position

Brightmont Academy is seeking two dedicated Special Education Administrators to collaborate with district partners in supporting students with IEPs. One administrator will support the Seattle Northgate location, and the other will support the Sammamish and Redmond locations. Brightmont Academy utilizes a customized one-teacher-to-one-student approach within an accredited curriculum to meet each student's learning style and make a significant difference. This is a part-time opportunity, averaging 20-30 hours per week, with a flexible schedule discussed during the interview process. The school operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This is a hybrid role requiring physical presence on campus as an essential function of the job.

Requirements

  • WA State Special Ed Certification
  • 4 year Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrates proficiency of technology resources, tools, and curricula
  • Experience using G-Suite and Chromebooks
  • Administrative skills for lesson coverage, grades and pacing progress
  • Positive professional communication skills: written, verbal, and non-verbal
  • Able to provide quality and effective instructional strategies
  • Able to pass a federal background screening
  • Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and promote the philosophy, mission, and pillars of Brightmont Academy.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the provision of special education services to students placed with Brightmont from a district.
  • Attend all district-facilitated IEP meetings as the Brightmont representative, reporting on students’ progress.
  • Support teachers on specially designed instructional strategies for students with disabilities.
  • Assist in monitoring special education programs and related services to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and local district policies and procedures.
  • Analyze data to establish appropriate goals and objectives in the context of improving academic achievement and social-emotional growth.
  • Facilitate special education students’ progress reviews with a focus on data monitoring of student achievement and continuous improvement.
  • Manage and complete any reporting requirements as needed by the district or OSPI for each student.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and ensure the implementation of Individual Education Programs and inclusive practices.
  • Oversee SBA administration for student caseload.
  • Collaborate with Campus Directors and District Representatives to assess and analyze the needs of individual students.
  • Consistently maintain positive relationships with Campus Directors, teachers, students, parents, and the larger community.
  • Maintain and protect the rights and confidentiality of others.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
