The Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff serves as a member of the Office of the President and provides administrative, operational, and engagement support to the Chief of Staff and Vice President for Public Affairs & Strategic Initiatives. The position is responsible for managing the Chief of Staff’s calendar, travel, correspondence flow, briefing materials, and daily administrative operations while supporting key initiatives undertaken by the President’s Office. The Special Assistant also serves as an operational representative of the President’s Office at meetings, events, and engagements throughout Maryland and the surrounding region. The position staffs the President at selected on-campus and off-campus events, assists with event advancement and logistics, and serves as a backup resource to the Executive Administrative Assistant to the President when needed.
