About The Position

Reporting to the Chancellor, the Special Assistant to the Chancellor and Executive Administration will provide administrative support to the Chancellor and the Vice Chancellor for Administration and Chief of Staff. This position will aid these roles through communication to internal and external stakeholders, collaboration with System leadership on strategic priorities, and management of special events. The role involves managing administrative functions of the Office of the Chancellor and the Office of Administration, assisting the Chancellor with communication to the Board of Trustees, campus Presidents, Health System CEO, and System Office senior leadership, and assisting the Chief of Staff with coordination of divisional operations, administrative initiatives, and special projects. It also includes collaborating with senior leadership across the System on the Chancellor's strategic priorities, planning and managing System Office events, and coordinating with others across the System about events involving the Chancellor, the Chief of Staff, and/or the Board of Trustees. Additionally, the position manages the UA System Office Fellows program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in both verbal and written communication to effectively assist the Chancellor and Chief of Staff with communication to the Board of Trustees, campus Presidents, Health System CEO, and System Office senior leadership
  • Ability to clearly convey strategic priorities and collaborate with senior leadership
  • Strong organizational skills to manage the administrative functions of the Office of the Chancellor
  • Ability to plan, manage, and coordinate events involving the Chancellor, the Chief of Staff, and/or the Board of Trustees
  • Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership across the System to support the Chancellor's strategic priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster teamwork and effective collaboration
  • Experience in managing programs, such as the UA System Office Fellows program
  • Ability to oversee program activities, ensure alignment with strategic goals, and manage resources effectively
