About The Position

As a Project Manager for the School of Medicine Office of Research Administration, this position supports special projects and manages project timelines across multiple research infrastructure units in SOM and Woodruff Health Sciences (WHSC) Discovery and Innovation, and other research and research administration priorities. The Project Manager collaborates with senior divisional leadership to manage and execute special projects and to provide business support related to external relations, budget and finance, human resources, and operations.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration or other related field.
  • Five years of experience with an emphasis on project management and finance/budget analysis.
  • Expertise in use of office technology, including the MicroSoft Suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint,) Internet, and e-mail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
  • Residency in the state of GA.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project tracking and reporting tools for executive leadership.
  • Partner with faculty to launch new projects.
  • Process optimization and improvements.
  • Assist with data pulls.
  • Update and maintain business-related metrics.
  • Coordinate policy development/feedback/review.
  • Assist with commitment tracking and forecasting of key financial data.
  • Create and edit presentations for leadership.
  • Coordinate agenda development.
  • Assist with on- and off-boarding.
  • Partner with the SOM communications team.
  • Manage processes for business operations.
  • Facilitate the planning and organization of events.
  • Attend meetings with divisional executive leadership, develop and manage work plans, and ensure or facilitate appropriate follow up.
  • Draft key communications such as articles, presentations, reports, and policies.
  • Research strategic intent of, develop agendas for, and prepare materials or presentations for meetings.
  • Conduct complex projects requiring comprehensive research and data analysis.
  • Collaborate with others to facilitate projects and ensure timelines and action plans are accomplished.
  • Provide leadership to project team members and ensure integration of relevant business processes.
  • Prepare and assist in budget analyses.
  • Participate in long-range financial planning, trending, and budgeting.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial information and reporting.
  • Analyze data and reports, identify and summarize trends, develop executive summaries.
  • Represent divisional executive leadership at meetings.
  • Perform related responsibilities as required.
