About The Position

Chem-Aqua, a subsidiary of NCH Corporation, is seeking a skilled SPD Installation and Service Technician to support its growth. The core mission is to deliver high-quality, dependable, and cost-effective pretreatment and chemical feed systems. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of water purification systems, with a primary focus on supporting the sale of water treatment chemicals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of critical water purification systems.
  • In-depth understanding of water purification systems, including Water Softeners, Filtration, Reverse Osmosis (RO), and Deionization (DI) systems.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing technical issues related to water treatment equipment and systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with healthcare staff, facility management, and equipment manufacturers.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities to address and resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Proficiency in using tools and equipment related to system installation, maintenance, and repair, including pressure gauges, multi-meters, and calibration tools.
  • Ability to handle physical demands, including lifting heavy equipment, working in confined spaces, and standing for extended periods.
  • Must have good depth perception and ability to distinguish different colors.
  • Must have hearing sufficient to hear verbal and audible signals at a moderate distance.
  • Strong customer service skills to effectively manage client relationships, address concerns, and provide training and support to facility staff as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional technical certification or degree in engineering, water treatment, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic start-up, installation, and service of SPD critical water systems.
  • Oversee and execute the installation, commissioning, and start-up of critical water equipment for sterile processing departments.
  • Make real-time decisions regarding the setup, configuration, and operational adjustments of water purification systems to ensure they meet required critical water standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive system checks, diagnostics, and performance validations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare facility management, sterile processing teams, and equipment manufacturers to schedule, report issues, and make recommendations.
  • Provide training and guidance to facility staff on the proper use and maintenance of critical water systems.
  • Install, setup, and commission water purification equipment including water softeners, filtration, reverse osmosis (RO), deionization (DI), and critical water distribution systems.
  • Interact professionally with clients and Chem-Aqua representatives to address concerns, provide technical advice, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Perform testing, validation, and calibration of equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to water purification systems to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
  • Provide ongoing support and preventive maintenance services to ensure optimal performance and longevity of installed equipment.
  • Adhere to strict health and safety protocols and practices while working on-site.
