Spatial Data Scientist - TS/SCI w/ Poly

Parsons Corporation•Springfield, VA
•$125,100 - $225,200

About The Position

Parsons is seeking a Spatial Data Scientist to support spatial and spatio-temporal statistical analysis of AOEA area-of-responsibility mission issues and to develop and implement statistical methods for incorporating multiple datasets. The role develops strategies for exposing new datasets and migration plans for legacy datasets, enabling deeper analysis of trends over time, broader data usability across the Intelligence Community (IC), and improved access to data holdings. The position also develops and documents data discovery, modeling, and production processes that adhere to enterprise architecture standards, and enables data for analysis, visualization, and modeling to address mission-specific intelligence issues. The Spatial Data Scientist works with stakeholders to provide data and strategies that meet AOEA requirements, applies spatial analytics and data mining to varied data sources, and maintains databases and data flows across applications and NGA domains. The role also supports data quality and lifecycle management, identifies emerging technologies, and works with government-provided capabilities in accordance with administrative policies and procedures. An active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 or more years of related experience; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  • Ability to leverage a range of data sources, including spatial data such as raster, vector, and web services, SharePoint, customer requests for information, survey responses, and production databases.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and data mining, and ability to develop, manipulate, and maintain databases.
  • Experience with spatial software such as the ArcGIS Suite and Tableau, particularly software for spatial statistical analysis of intelligence data and data visualization.
  • Understanding of geospatial policies and data-handling restrictions, including cross-domain data movement and data-sharing strategies with IC mission partners and customers.
  • Working knowledge of statistical software such as R or similar.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph.

Nice To Haves

  • Use data mining on structured and unstructured information to satisfy deployer requests.
  • Apply advanced spatial analytics to derive insights from unstructured, semi-structured, and structured data.
  • Maintain, move, and manipulate data between applications and across NGA domains using appropriate software as technology evolves.
  • Collaborate and work effectively across organizational boundaries.
  • Maintain databases and support the full data lifecycle, including design, production, conversion, migration, translation, and data quality assurance.
  • Transfer, load, and share data using current government-provided capabilities and following administrative policies and procedures.
