Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of experience managing a tool crib or spare parts inventory.
  • Experience using Google or Microsoft applications on the job.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure 5S implementation for a clean and organized warehouse, enabling prompt location identification of parts.
  • Establish and maintain the spare part management system.
  • Supervise the handling of spare parts.
  • Create working instructions and procedures for employees in the spare parts warehouse and management.
  • Ensure access to spare parts for necessary employees during production periods (normal and overtime).
  • Propose the spare parts budget to the Plant/Production Manager.
  • Implement spare parts warehouse red box.
  • Continuously challenge inventory reorder points and stock value.
  • Improve inventory accuracy through regular cycle counting, discrepancy root cause analysis, and action plans.
  • Track spare parts obsolescence (including transfers and equipment write-offs) and identify non-rotating stock.
  • Propose a list of obsolete, non-rotating spare parts and related action plans (e.g., sell back to suppliers, open market, or other Valeo plants) to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Define the spare parts procurement strategy, considering cost.
  • Improve the spare parts management and handling system.
  • Participate in contract negotiations with parts suppliers, led by the purchasing department.
  • Promote and participate in the standardization of spare parts.
  • Alert and build action plans in case of non-available spare parts.
  • Create the new line's necessary spare part list.
  • Request quotations for new spare parts.
  • Ensure new parts are entered into the spare part handling system.
  • Participate in the definition of spare parts lists at the earliest stage of machine/equipment investment.
