About The Position

At Sartorius, we are seeking a Spare Parts Specialist to join our team in Bohemia, NY. In this hybrid-based role, you will be responsible for bridging support needs and inquiries surrounding technical spare part inquiries and business-related requirements engineering, procurement, and supplier networks to ensure timely availability of standard and non-standard components while prioritizing technical integrity and quality compliance, and operational continuity. in accordance with the laid down policies and procedures. This is a Hybrid role. The ideal candidate must be able to work on-site at one of our locations, a minimum of three days a week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in spare parts sourcing, technical procurement, and/or manufacturing environments.
  • Solid understanding of business processes with good SAP knowledge
  • Knowledge of mechanical components, manufacturing processes, and materials
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD files, and technical specifications

  • Proven software skills, e.g. Microsoft Office, especially in Excel (Access knowledge desirable)

Responsibilities

  • Analyze technical drawings, equipment manuals, and specifications to determine exact part requirements
  • Collaborate with engineering, Service, and operations teams to clarify part functionality, tolerances, materials, and performance criteria
  • Ensure spare parts documentation in an appropriate way (e.g. spare parts lists)
  • Perform technical inspection to support service purchasing for local sourcing opportunities for standard parts
  • Provide technical information & support for locally fabricated/machined niche, obsolete, or custom component
  • Ensure maintenance of spare parts lists and their further development
  • Responsible for updating spare part documentation based on Technical Information Notifications (TINs)
  • Provide technical guidance on part selection for preventative maintenance service
  • Commodity code (HTS) assignment support
  • Liaise and deal with other departments to resolve issues and their needs
  • Collaborate in projects
