At Prep Academy Tutors of Central Connecticut, we’re on a mission to ignite the love of learning and help students achieve their fullest potential. We’re a dynamic, private in-home and online tutoring company dedicated to providing top-tier educational support across all subjects and for students of all ages. We are currently seeking an in-person Spanish tutor to work with students in the Newtown and Easton, Connecticut areas.

Requirements

• You hold a current, valid registration with the Connecticut State Department of Education.
• You’re a qualified teacher in the United States or in the process of becoming one.
• You’re a current teacher candidate pursuing a Bachelor of Education.
• You have experience as a lecturer or course instructor at an accredited U.S. or Canadian university.
• You have strong Spanish language skills and a genuine passion for helping students learn.
• You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• You are comfortable providing in-person instruction in the Newtown and Easton areas.
• You are reliable, professional, patient, and enthusiastic about working with students.

Responsibilities

• Empower students with academic support based on the Connecticut curriculum.
• Provide engaging, personalized Spanish language instruction tailored to each student’s age, level, and learning goals.
• Develop customized learning plans that help students build practical language skills rather than simply memorize vocabulary and grammar rules.
• Support students with reading, writing, speaking, listening, vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension.
• Offer remedial support for students who need additional assistance as well as enrichment opportunities for students looking to advance their Spanish skills.
• Help students build confidence in using Spanish in both academic and everyday settings.
• Incorporate Spanish culture and real-world applications into lessons when appropriate.
• Collaborate with parents to keep them informed about student progress, challenges, and successes.
• Deliver in-person tutoring sessions in the Newtown and Easton areas of Connecticut.
