About The Position

Allegro Charter School of Music is seeking a Spanish Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. The school serves grades 6–12 and integrates music into an academically challenging environment. The teacher will work collaboratively in a small-school community, adapt to changing duties, differentiate instruction for students with varied learning needs, and use classroom technology in a 1:1 school setting. A love of music, strong classroom management, and the ability to establish clear routines are important. Classroom experience is strongly preferred but not required. This is a 190-day position. Typical full-time hours are 7:30 AM–3:30 PM, with occasional work outside those hours; the school generally follows the Charleston County School District calendar.

Requirements

Valid South Carolina Teaching Certificate, or ability to obtain one within three months of employment in the assigned field(s), and qualification to teach the hired subject area.
Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening.
Strong technology skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Appreciation of music.
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job, including frequently lifting or moving up to 40 pounds, ensuring student safety, sitting and standing for extended periods, and performing the listed mobility, dexterity, reading, hearing, and speaking tasks.
