About The Position

St. Gregory the Great Catholic School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Spanish teacher to provide engaging Spanish instruction. The ideal candidate will foster a love of language and culture while building foundational Spanish vocabulary and conversational skills appropriate for elementary learners.

Requirements

  • Active, practicing Roman Catholic (preferred)
  • Respects and understands a Catholic school philosophy
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Spanish, or a related field (teaching credential preferred).
  • Fluency in Spanish (oral and written).
  • Experience working with elementary school students.
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of a Catholic school environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate Spanish lessons for K-5 grade students.
  • Plan and implement lessons for middle school Spanish 1 and Spanish 2 students.
  • Introduce and reinforce basic Spanish vocabulary, phrases, songs, and cultural traditions.
  • Create a positive, engaging classroom environment that supports active learning.
  • Collaborate with K-5 homeroom teachers to integrate Spanish learning with grade-level themes when possible.
  • Maintain classroom management that fosters respect, participation, and curiosity.
  • Communicate with administration regarding student progress and curriculum needs.
  • Input grades into FACTS gradebook.
  • Submit weekly lesson plans to the principal.
