About The Position

Partnerships to Uplift Communities (PUC) Schools is comprised of a non-profit network of public charter schools designed to significantly increase high school graduation rates, college entrance, and college graduation rates for underserved students in North-East Los Angeles, and the North-East San Fernando Valley. Our mission at PUC Schools is to develop and manage high-quality charter schools in densely populated urban communities with overcrowded and low-achieving schools. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required
  • Must possess a current California teaching credential in the appropriate field
  • 1+ years of teaching experience
  • Solid knowledge of subject matter, including California State Standards and subject-specific frameworks and assessments
  • Knowledge of diversity in society, including diverse abilities, culture, language, ethnicity, and gender orientation
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Must be flexible and team-oriented
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong work ethic, accountability, and ownership of work
  • Regular attendance, dependability, and punctuality in conformance with the standards are essential to the successful performance of this position

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in subject matter field or Education strongly preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plan and provide appropriate learning experiences for students
  • Supervise students in a variety of school-related settings
  • Assess, monitor, and evaluate student outcomes
  • Develop and maintain IATs (lesson plans)
  • Provide continual assessment of student progress, maintain student records and portfolios, and complete assigned paperwork in provided time frames
  • Attend and implement professional development training throughout the school year
  • Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and community
  • Provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students
  • Strive to maintain and improve professional competence
  • Maintain appropriate records and follow required procedures and practices
  • Monitor appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned
