About The Position
Bishop Blanchet High School is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Spanish Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a benefit-eligible position starting August 20, 2026. Bishop Blanchet is a Catholic, college preparatory high school in Seattle, WA, grades 9-12, committed to diversity and fostering a community rooted in Gospel Values. The school aims to inspire students to transform the world through faith, scholarship, and service. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to teaching Spanish 1 and Spanish 2, collaborating with colleagues, structuring student learning to meet standards, creating assessments, differentiating instruction, providing enrichment/intervention, and utilizing technology effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in specific content area
- Ability to teach Spanish 1 and Spanish 2
- Commitment to collaborating in Professional Learning Communities
- Commitment to structuring student learning to meet Common Core, State, National, or other standards
- Commitment to creating common formative and summative assessments with department team members
- Commitment to differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all learners
- Commitment to strategizing for enrichment/intervention to meet the needs of all students
- Commitment to utilizing technology (interactive boards, one-to-one devices, google suite) to inform instruction
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree or higher
- Washington State Teaching credential (or ability to obtain one) in content area
