About The Position
The Teacher Assistant supports classroom instruction and management by working closely with the lead teacher to promote a positive and engaging learning environment. This role includes supporting lesson delivery, working with small groups, and helping maintain an organized and safe classroom.
Requirements
- Bilingual (English/French or English/Spanish) required
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to support diverse learners and adapt to classroom needs
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Experience working in an elementary school setting preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized and small‑group support to students
- Assist with implementing lesson plans, projects, and assessments
- Monitor and document student progress and behavior
- Support implementation of IEPs and recommended interventions
- Help maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment
- Assist with classroom routines, transitions, lunch, and recess duties
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and staff
- Communicate positively with students, staff, and families
- Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development
