About The Position

PGLS is seeking two Spanish Language Instructors to teach an intensive, one-on-one course for adult professionals. The position is onsite in Atlanta, GA, with a class start date of August 31st, 2026, for a duration of 6 months. Local candidates are preferred.

Requirements

  • Educated native or bilingual speaker.
  • 2+ year(s) of classroom experience teaching Spanish language to adult English-speaking students.
  • 1+ year(s) of teaching experience in a small-group classroom setting.
  • Must possess the cultural background of the country and geographical region (raised or educated in the county).
  • Familiarity with various computer platforms, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, and virtual meeting software (Zoom, Skype, MS Teams).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a distributed team.
  • Strong time management and problem-solving abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the communicative approach to language learning, ILR proficiency scale levels and OPI assessments highly desired.
  • Teaching Spanish as a foreign language, preferably one-on-one or small group settings.
  • Familiar with teaching with the communicative approach to language teaching.
  • Knowledge of Adult Learning Theories and practice, preferred.
  • Ability to work remotely and provide required services from alternate locations via MS Teams, ZOOM, etc., as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Teach an intensive, one-on-one course in Spanish language.
  • Assess the learning style of the student and adjust teaching accordingly.
  • Work interculturally in a harmonious and professional manner.
  • Provide required services via MS Teams, ZOOM, etc., as needed.
