About The Position

Ohio Wesleyan University, a selective, private, undergraduate liberal arts institution founded in 1842, is seeking a part-time Spanish Instructor for its Department of World Languages and Cultures. The position involves teaching two sections of second-semester Spanish and potentially one section of first-semester Spanish during the Spring 2027 semester. Courses are taught on campus, meeting four times per week for 50 minutes each session on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. There is a possibility of teaching during the Fall 2027 semester as well. All instruction at Ohio Wesleyan University is delivered in a face-to-face, in-person environment, with no online courses offered during the fall and spring semesters.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Spanish or Foreign Language Education.
  • Native or near-native fluency in Spanish.
  • Prior college-level teaching experience.
  • Ability to teach in a face-to-face, in-person environment.

Responsibilities

  • Teach two sections of second-semester Spanish.
  • Potentially teach one section of first-semester Spanish.
  • Teach small classes (up to 22 students per class).
  • Become part of a dynamic, supportive, and collaborative team of instructors.
  • Be mentored by and receive support from the Chair and other members of the department.
