This is a full-time, in-person role for a Spanish Healthcare Interpreter I, working Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. The interpreter will provide language access services in a healthcare setting, including in-person, telephone, and video interpreting, as well as basic translation. The role involves leveraging technology, troubleshooting application issues, maintaining relationships with internal customers, making decisions about interpreter modalities, and managing costs. The interpreter will convey information regarding patients' and families' healthcare needs, acting as a conduit for accurate and concise interpretation considering cultural implications and idiomatic language differences. Additionally, the role includes acting as a cultural broker, educating caregivers on patient cultures in relation to healthcare, and adhering to professional conduct and national practice standards. Basic written translation within department guidelines is also a responsibility.
