This is a full-time, in-person role for a Spanish Healthcare Interpreter I, working Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. The position is located at MyersPark/NorthPark and is part of the Language Services department. The interpreter will proactively respond to requests for language access in a healthcare setting, including in-person, telephone, and video interpreting, as well as basic translation. The role involves leveraging technology, troubleshooting basic application issues, maintaining relationships with internal customers, making decisions about interpreter modalities, and striving to contain costs. The interpreter will interpret information regarding patients' and families' healthcare needs, acting as a conduit for accurate and concise interpretation while considering cultural implications and idiomatic language differences. Additionally, the role includes acting as a cultural broker by educating caregivers on patient cultures in relation to healthcare, adhering to professional conduct standards, executing job duties ethically, and following national practice standards. Basic written translation within department guidelines and serving as a cultural mediator are also key functions.
