Salem State University invites applications for a full-time, temporary faculty member specializing in Spanish Education beginning September 1, 2027. This is a joint appointment between the World Languages and Cultures department and the McKeown School of Education, and plays a central leadership role in the university’s Spanish teacher licensure programs and carries significant responsibility for teaching, program coordination, hiring of adjuncts, field placement, advising, and collaboration across academic units and with state licensure offices. The successful candidate will serve as the Lead Faculty member for Spanish teacher licensure programs, including the 4+1 BA/MEd with Initial Licensure and the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in Spanish, which offers Elementary and Secondary tracks at both the Initial and Professional licensure levels. These programs are jointly supported by the World Languages and Cultures department and the McKeown School of Education to ensure alignment with disciplinary standards, pedagogical best practices, and evolving state licensure requirements.
