About The Position

Responsible for providing leadership and direction to spa staff and for overseeing the day-to-day operational management of the property spa operation, reporting to the Director of Golf and Club Operations.

Requirements

  • Must be knowledgeable running a spa facility.
  • Proficient computer skills to include Outlook, Scheduler, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and computerized reservation booking/billing systems.
  • Must have excellent oral communication and written skills and be able to interact with guests in person and on the telephone.
  • Possess good problem solving skills and be capable of reacting to a variety of different situations while maintain a positive manner.
  • Possess managerial skills.
  • Possess physical stamina to withstand standing, lifting, stooping, climbing stairs and bending involved in moving and transporting spa supplies and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds during an 8 hour shift.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • High school diploma required with 5 years’ retail sales/spa management/supervisory experience.
  • Ability to work days, nights, weekends, holidays.
  • Works well independently without direction.
  • Ability to lead and make decisions that impact the businesses finances.
  • Must have professional presentation as an ambassador of the company serving as a property leader.
  • Possesses knowledge of occupational hazards, safety precautions and health regulations related to spa activities.
  • Possess knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service with the ability to build relationships.
  • Must have the ability to enforce operating policies and procedures in an effective and courteous manner.
  • Ability to communicate directions and information effectively so others will understand.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull or carry up to 40 pounds, stand, stoop, bend and climb stairs for up to 8 hour shift.
  • Knowledgeable in local and state licensing requirements, municipal health regulations and federal and state tax laws.
  • College degree in Hospitality, Resort or Business, Management or equivalent related industry work experience, required.
  • Ability to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures exemplary quality standards of the spa are achieved.
  • Establishes and maintains clean, neat and safe work areas.
  • Assists in developing new and innovative spa services.
  • Oversee special spa projects/events/weddings and follow-up as required.
  • Creates the marketing strategy for spa services by working with the marketing and member services departments by creating a menu of services that will grow and retain the customer base.
  • Ensures work responsibilities are covered in periods of absence.
  • Attends special events that promote the spa.
  • Stays current on industry trends and area competition.
  • Addresses issues with required linen inventory with housekeeping as well as working with the department on cleaning the facility.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Assists in staff interviewing, hiring, training and scheduling processes.
  • Trains new technicians in the established protocols for spa services.
  • Oversees the development of training programs for spa staff to ensure service standards, protocols, and health and safety regulations are maintained.
  • Maintains protocol training manuals for treatments.
  • Reviews, coaches and supervises spa personnel.
  • Conducts spa employee meetings to discuss direction and initiatives.
  • Assists with developing the budget and business plans for maximizing profitability of the spa.
  • Maintains labor budget, service pricing and supplies for maximum profitability.
  • Oversees and ensures cost-effective professional product and retail inventory levels are maintained and ensures timely product ordering.
  • Develops and manages the annual operating budget for spa, to include monthly forecasting and variance reporting, generating revenue, and controlling expenses.
  • Maintains budgeted expense-to-revenue and labor-to-revenue ratios for the spa.
  • Develops and implements on-going promotions and services to increase spa services and retail sales that generate revenue and ensures revenue initiatives are met.
  • Manages the ongoing services and product margins to ensure maximum profitability.
  • Approves equipment purchases ensuring budget goals are met.
  • Works with the property Merchandise Manager for retail inventory for product sale items at the spa.
  • Manages Dayforce system, schedules, inputs time off and commission revenue processes for departments’ payroll processing.
  • Monitors Unifocus and responds to guest and member complaints ensuring spa meets resort standards and issues are resolved with minimal impact to the business ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Oversees facility areas ensuring they are in excellent condition or initiates and follows-up on reports made for issues to M&E for repair keeping facility and equipment clean, painted, maintained and working properly.
  • Interacts with property departments as needed.
