About The Position

The Spa Manager will lead and manage all wellness operations across company lodges, ensuring an exceptional guest experience. This role involves designing and delivering innovative wellness experiences that complement the safari guest journey, managing departmental budgets, financial performance, and reporting. The manager will also develop annual wellness budgets and commercial plans, partner with Sales & Marketing to promote wellness offerings and identify new business opportunities, and oversee procurement, stock control, inventory, and cost management. Building strong guest relationships, resolving concerns professionally, and conducting regular operational inspections to maintain high wellness standards are key. Additionally, the role requires leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing the wellness team through training and performance management, monitoring performance through key metrics, and fostering close working relationships with other lodge departments for seamless coordination and an exceptional end-to-end guest experience.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Spa Management, Hospitality Management, Wellness Management, or a related field (Esthetician qualification advantageous)
  • Minimum 3 years’ management experience within a luxury 4- or 5-star spa/wellness environment
  • Proven experience managing wellness operations, budgets, training, and inventory
  • Strong financial, sales, marketing and guest relations experience
  • Experience working with Wellness POS systems
  • Excellent leadership, coaching and people management skills
  • Managing colleague performance issues quickly and effectively

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all wellness operations across company lodges to ensure exceptional guest experience
  • Design and deliver innovation wellness experiences that complement the safari guest journey
  • Manager departmental budgets, financial performances and monthly reporting
  • Develop annual wellness budget and commercial plans with the General Manager
  • Partner with Sales & Marketing to promote wellness experiences and identify new business opportunities
  • Oversee procurement, stock control, inventory and cost management.
  • Build strong relationships with guests and resolve guest concerns professionally and efficiently.
  • Conduct regular operational inspections to maintain exceptional wellness standards across all lodges.
  • Lead, coach, mentor and develop the wellness team through ongoing training and performance management.
  • Monitor wellness performance through key operational and financial metrics
  • Build close working relationships with key lodge departments including Front of House, Housekeeping, Guiding, and Maintenance to ensure seamless coordination and an exceptional end-to-end guest experience across all lodges
  • Develop an annual training plan with the wellness team leader and ensure that all employees are trained and developed to meet the needs of the business
